Most humans are attempting daily to function in a state of shock. This challenges the individual physiologically forcing enormous compensations in every system of the mind/body complex over time.
When we become overwhelmed we enter into a state of shock as a survival mechanism. In other words, when something is too painful or too fearfulourmind disassociates from that area of the body. The mind is in every cello four body, however healthcare ignores consciousness. This absurdity has thwarted the effectiveness of traditional healthcare rendering it ineffectual.
The brain is our "thinking conscious" (channel 5), our mind contained within and beyond the fascial system is our "feeling conscious" (channel 3). Neuroscientists have recently discovered that the information data base available in our feeling conscious (the subconscious or channel 3) is in excess of 10 million to one of that of our thinking consciousness (the intellect - channel 5).
So, when physical or emotional trauma is overwhelming we go into a state of chaos and disassociation. From a myofascial perspective we go into shock, our mind leaves our body so that we don't feel. In other words, when our mind leaves that area of the body we are numbed to help us get through the ordeal and survive.
This survival mechanism was designed to be a short-term event. But,because healthcare ignored consciousness we are left after trauma in a disassociated, fragmented state that creates a cascade of physiological, emotional and mental consequences, compensations and challenges.
One of the many compensations is in the autonomic nervous system. Parasympathetic shock is the suppression of adrenaline, while sympathetic shock is the repeated firing of adrenaline under all circumstances, even at the slightest suggestion of anything resembling the original threat.
Sympathetic shock brings with it a deep, obsessive bond with action and a resistance to rest, like a raging fire that cannot be controlled. This is a description of the "flight or fight" response. Parasympathetic shock can be characterized as a frozen body of water. This is the "freeze" response.
Parasympathetic shock waits for the awakening of authentic responsiveness while the sympathetic shock longs for calm. We see this in our patients every day. Which state of shock best describes you? What are your going to do to change it?
Life is not a dress rehearsal! Are you ready to move out of a life of existence and coping and move into a true, vibrant life of joy?
Traditional healthcare only treats the compensations (symptoms) and has ignored the root cause of most problems, symptoms and disease, the fascial/emotional/consciousness complex which cannot be separated or ignored if our goal is meaningful change and growth.
Myofascial Release eliminates the enormous pressure on pain sensitive structures and creates a temporary therapeutic chaos to allow for a resolution of symptoms and authentic healing to occur.
Myofascial Release works with the wisdom of the body and the results can be profound!
